The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has reported the recovery of its 600th illegally occupied property. The eviction operation took place in the Balvanera neighborhood, which leads the ranking in such procedures. City authorities emphasize that they will not rest until every illegally occupied property is returned to its rightful owner. Police and emergency response personnel participated in the operation, which was personally supervised by Head of Government Jorge Macri. He stated that the city will not allow itself to turn into the 'Conurbano' and that the era of impunity for squatters is over. The case of Omar González was cited as an example, whose property was returned to him after 12 years of illegal occupation. Macri also added that under his administration, the law is not negotiable.
